CONCEPT

Corresponding to the diverse nature of Baroque music as exemplified by historical sources, Cantus Thuringia & Capella is able to produce programmes that are sensitive to a variety of performance spaces. This diversity determines the character of the ensemble: whether one or more to a part, whether chamber, consort or orchestral, whether vocal or instrumental. The spectrum of Cantus Thuringia & Capella is complemented further by the collaboration of internationally sought-after vocal soloists.

Since its founding, the ensemble has developed a rich, extensive repertoire. It has established a series of specially prepared programmes, which is continually being expanded with the partnership of musicologists or through specific performances based on the wishes of its hosts.
